Edmondo De Amicis, lettera a TrevesBiographie de l'auteurNacque in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele I, ora titolata a suo nome, presso Oneglia, prima che fosse accorpata a Porto Maurizio ed altri 9 comuni nell'unica città di Imperia 77 anni dopo, nel 1923. Con Edmondo ancora duenne però, la sua famiglia si trasferì in Piemonte, dapprima a Cuneo, dove il piccolo Edmondo studiò alle scuole primarie, quindi a Torino, dove frequentò il liceo. Di famiglia benestante, il padre Francesco (1791-1863), d'origine genovese, copriva mansioni di regio banchiere di sali e tabacchi. La madre, Teresa Busseti, faceva parte dell'alta borghesia. Sia la sua casa ligure (oggi biblioteca) che quella di Cuneo (oggi caserma militare "Carlo Emanuele" dei bastioni di Stura, con vista Monviso) furono ampie ed eleganti.

A certain David also inherited half of it. This intriguing turn of events makes you really wonder what could have happened for lovely Granny to throw such a wrench in Leah and Sadie’s dream!As the plot unfolds, the reader eventually grows to appreciate Nan whose secret is unveiled with poignancy. Leah and David share childhood memories that resurface as they spend quality time together. Step by step, you realise that all Nan did was with a specific purpose in mind.All I Want for Christmas is a festive, touching novel about family, friendship and love.
